Product Description
The Boira Bahira, commonly known as Bibhitaki, is a large deciduous tree scientifically called Terminalia bellirica. It is native to the Indian subcontinent and thrives in tropical and subtropical climates. The tree can grow up to 20–30 meters tall, featuring a straight trunk and a broad, spreading crown. Its leaves are large, simple, and clustered at the ends of branches, turning yellow before falling. The plant produces small, pale greenish-yellow flowers with a mild odor, usually blooming in spring. Its fruit is round, greyish, and velvety, becoming hard when mature. Bibhitaki fruit is one of the three key ingredients in the famous Ayurvedic formulation Triphala. It is highly valued for its medicinal properties, especially for supporting respiratory health, digestion, and detoxification. The tree grows well in well-drained soils with good sunlight and is commonly found in forests, rural landscapes, and herbal plantations.
