The live chocolate fruit plant, commonly known as the cocoa plant (Theobroma cacao), is a tropical evergreen tree grown for producing chocolate. It thrives in warm, humid climates with partial shade and well-drained, fertile soil. The plant has large, shiny green leaves and grows up to 4–8 meters tall when cultivated. One unique feature of the cocoa plant is that its small white or pink flowers grow directly on the trunk and main branches. These flowers develop into oval-shaped fruits called cocoa pods, often referred to as chocolate fruits. When mature, the pods turn yellow, orange, or red.
